ABOUT US: ICEVIEW is an independent, nonprofit journal of literature and art born in the small village of Skagaströnd, Iceland. Drawing inspiration from artists who travel for the sake of art-making, our mission is to bridge the communication gap between permanent and temporary residents across the remote regions of Iceland and beyond, as well as provide a platform for expression for the dynamic art communities that are formed in unexpected places—from Reykjavík to Raufarhöfn and everywhere in-between.

ICEVIEW is a biannual, bilingual, printed publication. Publishing both in English and Icelandic, each issue is distributed widely to artist residencies, libraries, and all art and writing programs within universities throughout Iceland.  Submissions for Volume 2 are now open. TI Online is an electronic extension of our printed material, publishing exclusive works of writing and visual art on a weekly basis. The same submission guidelines apply to both TI Online and ICEVIEW. Submissions for TI Online are open year-round.

WE CONSIDER: Literary fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, visual art & photography inspired by (but not limited to) Iceland. We're particularly interested in work that deals broadly with themes of travel, belonging, weather, or conceptions of home—wherever their settings may be. Please feel free to query us with proposals for long-form pieces, interviews, or any other work that doesn't fit the descriptions noted.

All submissions should be sent to THEICEVIEW [at] GMAIL [dot] COM. Use “Author’s name: Genre” as the subject line. Please include a cover letter that highlights any publishing credits, professional credentials, and other relevant experience. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please be notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere. We'll do our best to respond to all submissions within eight to twelve weeks.

**We accept submissions in BOTH Icelandic and English
